here is a list of my winning history, the crazy stuff i did, and how i loved it.
one of the crazy things i remember is when i was 14, a local radio station in la called power 106, did a nightly thing called high school dj's. for an hour, they would let you come in & basically dj on air, taking calls, announcing songs. it was something i totally wanted to do. so i called, they gave me a quick phone interview, & i was asked to come in the next week. mind you, alot of people couldnt get a chance to do it. i got 3 of my girlfriends & we got a ride to la to do this. to try & make a long story short, we got over 2 hours of radio time instead of an hour & the dj couldnt stop laughing. it was the most hilarious thing he had to put up with. it was so freakin cool.
so through the years, i won numerous concert tickets, and a few years in a row, i got jingle ball tickets from rick dees on kiis fm, the dj who previously on before ryan seacrest. i have also won game systems, and other crazy stuff. forever, my friends told me i had this luck with the radio because i would always win stuff.
graduating high school i won a $1000 scholarship to start off junior college & when i got to long beach city college, i was granted over $2000 in more scholarship money. but i had a boyfriend,,,oops i meant major distraction, then he became an ex-boyfriend. so i was going through a boy crisis. thus, i dropped out of school & cashed out the scholarship money. sweet.
by then, i went from bank teller, to verizon wireless customer care rep, to 911 California Highway Patrol Dispatcher, where i would make a substantial amount of money for a girl starting out the career at 22.
something was missing. i moved out of my parents house & loved into an apartment working graveyards. how boring & what a lack of social life.
what i did next i never thought i'd do, try out & go for miss greater lakewood usa 2002.... yeah, with the crowd all tearing up from my on stage questions, i was crowned a beauty queen. WTF ???
competing against 72 other girls in the state with way more experience was catty. needless to say i didnt win, but hell, these are the girls that compete for MISS USA !
retired from pageant life.. i concentrated on clubbing in hollywood, then settling down on a career i loved, and eventually meeting the man who makes me, besides his kids, his everything. i cant ask for more.
Moving to San Diego in 2003, i became homesick & miserable. My shopping was literally retail therapy. I discovered the internet & online shopping & malls all over again.
oh, and eBay, I love eBay. buy & sell. it is all good, if you play the game right. it is the place to get some good stuff.
anyhoo... i am girly girl. always have been always will be.being a mom of 3 hasn't taken the youth out of me at all. although sometimes i question my age on the outside, when others tell me i don't look my age... it makes me grin.. i guess i better keep buying what i buy to make look fab.
so in addition to all my beauty raves, i will post coupons, sales, promos & good places to go & eat.
it's my wealth of knowledge of this stuff that i'm good at.
keep me bookmarked
